KING-FM's "Natural Symphony" CD and CD-ROM
set.
In the May of 1998, Eastside Symphony recorded Vadim
Bibergan's "Aria for Orchestra, Piano, Organ and Choir" for the KING-FM CD "Natural Symphony". The
work was arranged by Alexei Girsh and published in 1993 by GIRSHAV Publishing Company in
Redmond, WA.
The orchestra was joined for this project by Holly G. Hermann, Piano;
Madeline Larsen, Organ; and the Eastside Symphony Choral, Joellen Santos, Director.
The recording engineer was Bill Levey. The First United
Methodist Church in Bellevue volunteered their sanctuary and pipe organ for the recording.
Vadim Bibergan was born in Moscow, Russia in 1937.
He earned a Doctorate Degree in composition at the Leningrad Conservatory under D.
D. Shostakovich. Works of Mr. Bibergan have established themselves in the
repertoire of many well-known orchestras and soloists in Russia and abroad. He is
the 1993 Grand Prize Winner of the Second International Competition of Works for Piano
Duo, Tokyo, Japan. V. Bibergan is an Honored Artist of Russia and Professor at the
Academy of Culture in St. Petersburg and has composed music for orchestra, choir, piano
and more than 60 feature films. He currently lives in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Holly G. Hermann is a faculty member of the Music Department at the University of
Washington in Seattle.
Madeline Larsen has been a guest soloist with many local orchestras and choirs.
Joellen Santos is an experienced Choir Director with church choirs and musical
comedies.
