Scott Granlund

Scott Granlund was born in Port Angeles in 1959.  Scott has performed as soloist with the Washington Wind Symphony, the Puget Sound Music Society Concert Band and the Volunteer Park Conservatory Orchestra.  He performs regularly with Black Cat Orchestra, the Belltown Saxophone Trio, the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mellifluous Zephyrs Polka Band.  He can be heard on recordings with Soundgarden, David Byrne and Black Cat Orchestra. Past musical projects include art ens. FR3D, the Anti-Fascist Marching Band and many works with various dance troupes.  His performances have included most sizes of the saxophone, tiny sopranino to the mighty basso.

Scott’s studies include time spent with saxophonists Lee Patrick and Sigurd Raschèr at their respective summer workshops, and with Michael Brockman at the University of Washington.

Mr. Granlund owns and operates Granlund's Woodwind Repair in the Belltown neighborhood.

Scott Granlund plays an alto saxophone built in 1929 to the original acoustic specifications of the instruments inventor, Adolphe Sax.
