Noah Baetge discovered a talent for music while
attending Olympic College and decided music might make good career, a
decision confirmed by receiving the Mary Baker Russell Music Scholarship at
Pacific Lutheran University. He is currently preparing to finish his
Bachelor of Music at PLU, focused on Vocal Performance, and has sung in the
Choir of the West and the Choral Union. He has also sung with the Tacoma
Master Chorale and Choral Arts Northwest. At PLU, opera took a guiding hand
in his career, steering him towards Seattle Opera, where he is a member of
the regular chorus and has sung in Parsifal, Lohengrin,
Rigoletto, Manon Lescaut, Les Contes d’Hoffmann and
Die Fledermaus as well as the upcoming productions of Cosi fan
tutti and Macbeth. His first principal role was Tamino in Die
Zauberflöte with Skagit Opera in March 2005. He has performed Basilio
in Le Nozze di Figaro in concert with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra
and Arcadio in previews of Florencia en al Amazonas with the
Seattle Opera Guild. Mr. Baetge has recently accepted an offer to join the
Seattle Opera Young Artist Program beginning in October of 2006, and has
also won the MET District competition and will be moving on to the Regional
competition on February 12th. This is Mr. Baetge’s debut with
the Concert Opera of Seattle. |
