David Barela has had a long and fulfilling love affair with the singing voice.  He began studying singing in 1970.  He went on to study with the acclaimed baritone Igor Gorin at the University of Arizona.  After singing professionally throughout the United States, David decided to turn his focus to the study of the piano.  He earned a Master’s degree in piano performance from the University of New Mexico.  His most influential piano teacher was the tremendous concert pianist Ozan Marsh who taught at the University of Arizona. 

David has recorded several professional recordings of classical piano music in conjunction with the DGB Record Label.  His recordings have received international acclaim.  David is the musical director at Gethsemane Lutheran Church and enjoys coaching professional and non-professional singers in Seattle.  David’s award winning website is www.dgbrecords.com.
