(Born August 11, 1952 in Everett, WA)

Brent Irwin started arranging music in high school and has written music for concert band, jazz band and orchestra. He earned an MA in music theory and composition from Central Washington University in 1978. Brent taught music for 27 years in the Federal Way Public Schools where he currently teaches middle school science. He sees the teaching change as a nice balance between the artistic and the scientific parts of his brain. Brent continues composing today for what he considers the ultimate musical ensemble, the symphony orchestra. His recent compositions have been performed by The Auburn Symphony, The Sammamish Symphony and The Vancouver Symphony. Brent has several performances scheduled for 2006 including the world premiere of his latest composition, The Reluctant Storm.

Soundtrack
Soundtrack was written in 1996 and was premiered in September of 2002. The piece was originally conceived as the score to an epic motion picture. The overture is complete with a hero’s theme, a love theme and an exciting conclusion – hence the title: Soundtrack.
