17-year old Andre Dubelsten is currently
in the 11th grade at Tualitin High School near Portland, Oregon. He
has studied trumpet with Portland State University's Gerald Webster for six
years. In September, 2000, he was a featured performer on “From the
Top” on National Public Radio. He is currently co-principal trumpet in the
Portland Youth Philharmonic. This is Mr. Dubelsten's second
appearance with Eastside Symphony. Andre has won
many awards including:
1st place - Oregon State Solo Competition,
Senior Division (April, 2001; April, 2000).
1st place; National Trumpet Competition (Senior Division);
Fairfax, VA (March, 2001).
Winner; Young Artist Competition; Vancouver Symphony Orchestra;
Vancouver, WA (January, 2001).
